Honoring Mom’s Final Goodbye

My mom is in the ICU in the Philippines, battling stage 4 breast cancer. The cancer has spread to her lungs and brain. She’s been hospitalized since July and remains in critical condition.

A few days ago, the doctors told us the words no one ever wants to hear: there’s nothing more they can do. All that’s left now is to keep her comfortable and close as she makes her way home to God.

And I’m not there. I’m thousands of miles away.. heartbroken, overwhelmed, and aching to be by her side. I just want to hold her hand, whisper to her that I love her, and let her know that she’s not alone.

Every moment that passes feels like one I’ll never get back. What breaks my heart even more is knowing that I’m so close… but not close enough. Not without help.

A last-minute flight to the Philippines is around $1,000, and my family is already facing more than $5,000 in hospital bills. I’ll also need to take time off from work, without pay, just to be there. It’s more than I can carry on my own right now.

And when that moment comes.. when my mom is ready to be with God and reunite with my dad in heaven, we want to give her a peaceful, loving goodbye. Something gentle. Something that honors the beautiful life she lived. But we’ll need help with that too.

I’ve never been one to ask for help like this, but this is my mom. This is everything.

If you’re able, please consider helping. Even the smallest act of kindness brings me closer to being with my mom.. to holding her hand, looking into her eyes, and telling her one last time how much I love her. I just want her to feel me there… to know she’s not alone. Every dollar will go toward my travel, her care, and helping us give her the goodbye she deserves.

If you can’t give financially, I completely understand. You can still help by sharing this page and keeping my mom and our family in your thoughts and prayers.

To everyone who has already donated or reached out, THANK YOU. Your kindness has been a light in the darkest chapter of my life and I will never forget it. You are giving me strength and hope.

Thank you for reading this. Thank you for helping me try to be with my mom.. while I still have the chance.

This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to write..
It breaks my heart to share that my mom has passed away. She fought so hard, and I am grateful for every prayer, message, and donation that helped us through her battle.

Even though she is finally at peace, we are still faced with the heavy burden of her hospital bills and now her funeral expenses. This is something I never imagined I would have to go through, and it’s incredibly overwhelming on top of the pain of losing her.

If you are able, I humbly ask for your continued support.. whether through a donation or by sharing this page. And if you can’t give, please keep my family in your prayers as we try to find strength in this difficult time.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for standing with us. Your love, kindness, and generosity mean more than I can ever put into words.

 With love and gratitude, Sha
