Last year, my mom suffered her second stroke and is now bedridden with vascular dementia. It has been incredibly hard to watch her health decline, especially from so far away. I am doing everything I can to support her, working part-time as a cleaning lady and also taking on caregiving jobs. The people I work with have already been so generous, helping me pay for my US citizenship and my mom’s previous treatments, and now I am paying them back for their kindness through my care and services.
Despite all my efforts, my income is not enough to cover everything my mom needs. She requires daily care, and I want to make sure she is comfortable and well looked after. My biggest wish is to be able to fly to the Philippines to see her while she is still with us and to celebrate her 77th birthday together this May 2. The cost of a plane ticket, hiring a reliable caregiver for her, and providing for her daily needs is more than I can manage alone.
Any support you can give would mean the world to both of us. Your kindness will help me be with my mom during this precious time and ensure she gets the care she deserves. Thank you for reading our story and for considering helping us in any way you can.
