Help Me Be with Dad in His Final Days
Donation protected
My dad is dying. He's in hospice at the VA hospital. He is a US Army Veteran who served our country in 1970-1972 before being discharged honorably for a service-related disability. He has lung cancer in both lungs, pneumonia, and a disease that has taken his ability to take nourishment by mouth. It is the end for him because of these things. He's a good man, and sad to see him go.
I haven't got to see him in a couple of years so having these final moments together is not only for me, but also to help him go peacefully, and not alone. My ultimate goal is to ensure he is comfortable and not alone in his final days.
If you can help me remain with my dad in his final days I would really appreciate it.
Major areas of need at this time are to do laundry at the Laundromat every other day because we were only able to bring 2-3 outfits each (1 bag per person included in business fare), lodging, food, and securing tickets to return home after my father has passed. Nurses have said he has only days remaining, definitely not weeks. If donations allow, maybe getting one or two outfits each from Walmart so we can do laundry less often. Without these donations, we may end up stranded in Florida, unable to make it back home to Alabama, and we would be left on the streets with nowhere to go and no way to get anywhere. Leaving before my dad has passed on is not an option, so please continue to help!
