Help me Battle ”Ameloblastoma” Tumor of the Jaw … Behing !!
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Kelly S. Simmons. I’m a single mother of 3 beautiful children ages 10, 9, and 6. I’m 32 years old and have been battling with “Ameloblastoma” tumors of the left jaw since I was 14 years old. Ameloblastoma is a rare, noncancerous (benign) tumor that develops in the jaw, usually near the molars. It originates from the cells that form the enamel lining of teeth. While considered benign, it's locally aggressive and has a high potential to become malignant. The main risk is recurrence. Ameloblastoma can be destructive and erode bone, and in the lower jaw, it can cause facial asymmetry, tooth displacement, and pathological fractures.
I’m on my 5th recurrence with this medical condition. I thank God it isn’t cancerous, but it has been a living “nightmare.” This has been so rough to deal with physically, emotionally, mentally, and financially over the years. I’ve lost jobs because of my condition time after time. I struggle most days to work because of the chronic pain from my illness, lost wages due to many doctor visits, lack of work, emergency room visits, and so on. Life has gotten very costly, and I’m living paycheck to paycheck. Most days, I don’t know how my children and I are making it. But God .
This hasn’t been easy for me or my children these past months. The medication I’m on causes a lot of drowsiness and has very harsh side effects, so I shouldn’t really be driving or working while on it. I’m also a part-time college student at OCTECH here in Orangeburg, SC. I’m studying to become a Physical Therapist Assistant. Now, with me having to juggle school, my kids, and my health together, this has gotten so hard for me financially to handle. Family members are helping as much as they can, and it’s only going to get tougher from here.
I will be hospitalized for 2-4 weeks after my procedure is completed. Disability won’t help me; I have been trying for years, and they still denied me. This is getting very stressful, and I just want to only worry about getting my health back together. With my hospital stay being so long and the healing process being about 1 year, I’m just asking if you are able to help me by donating anything you may possibly be able to donate to help me take some of my financial burdens off my hands. I do not want to lose anything I worked so hard to get.
The expenses are my kids' childcare expenses while I’m hospitalized, my rent, my car note, car insurance, light bill, gas, food, household things, medical and medication expenses. Anything can help me and my children on this journey ❤️ Thank y'all so much for the love and support in this journey, and I will be keeping everyone posted and updated throughout the weeks and months as I battle this ongoing rare medical condition!!!
