I am honored to have been selected to represent my state and my school at the Washington Youth Summit on the Environment located in Washington D.C. As a sophomore in high school, this is a rare opportunity that could truly shape my future. In addition to my academic pursuits, I am a full-time French horn player in my school's band, and also a full-time colorguard/winterguard member. These activities keep me busy and help me grow as a leader and team member. The summit offers going to Smithsonian National Zoo, and learning from experts in the field! It also offers college credits, a certificate of merit, and the chance to connect with other passionate students and experts in environmental studies—opportunities I wouldn’t have access to otherwise.
The tuition for the summit is a significant challenge for my family. We don’t have the resources to cover this cost, so I am creating this GoFundMe and applying for scholarships to help make it possible. Attending the summit would give me early college-level experience, help me grow as a leader, and clarify my college and career goals. I’m excited to bring what I learn back to my school and community, sharing new ideas and inspiration with others.
With your support, I can take part in this life-changing experience and open doors that wouldn’t be possible for me otherwise. Any contribution, big or small, will make a difference and help me take the next step toward my dreams before the deadline on February 27th. Thank you for considering helping me reach this goal.
