Hi everyone,

My name is Marley, and I’ve applied to the Shad Live-In Program, a prestigious Canadian summer program where students from across the country come together to explore STEM, entrepreneurship, leadership, and innovation while living on a university campus for a month.

I’m passionate about biomedical engineering, community leadership, and dance. I’ve been dancing competitively since I was five and currently train about 17 hours a week as part of the senior team at my studio. Dance has taught me discipline, teamwork, resilience, and how to balance my commitments both inside and outside of school.

The Shad program would give me the opportunity to work with mentors, collaborate with other motivated students, and explore innovative solutions to real-world problems—especially in areas like healthcare and biomedical engineering, which I hope to pursue in the future.

The total cost of attending the program is approximately $7,000, which covers tuition, residence on campus, meals, and program materials for the month of July.
