After receiving a kidney transplant, my life has transformed in ways I never thought possible. Before my transplant, I struggled daily with exhaustion, muscle cramps, and the need to sleep up to 12 hours just to get through the day. Now, I have the energy to live like a normal person and pursue the activities I love. This gift has given me a second chance, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to experience life more fully.

Participating in the Transplant Games is my way of celebrating this incredible gift of life alongside others who have shared similar journeys. The Games bring together recipients and donors, allowing us to honor the generosity and courage that make these stories possible. Meeting others who have received transplants and hearing from those who have donated is truly inspiring, and it reminds me of the strength and hope within our community.

Representing Illinois at the Transplant Games is a meaningful opportunity for me. It’s not just about competing (though I do love that too!)—it’s about sharing my story, connecting with others, and showing what is possible after transplantation.
