Help Me Attend My Honorary Doctorate Graduation

For nearly fifteen years, I have dedicated my life to humanitarian service and community advocacy. I’ve worked alongside organizations such as the ACLU of Washington, Legal Voice, Poverty Action Network, Solid Ground, 22TooMany, and Veteran Rites (naming a few)—each partnership rooted in one mission: to protect civil rights, uplift vulnerable families, advocate for equality, and ensure that no one is left behind.

As a U.S. Army Veteran, Licensed Practical Nurse, Paralegal, and nonprofit founder, my journey has always been shaped by service—not spotlight. I never did this work to be seen, praised, or validated. I showed up because people needed someone to stand in the gap… to create the change I wanted to see in the world. Every hour, every effort, every fight for justice came from purpose, not applause.

So when I was awarded one of the greatest honors of my life—an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Humanitarian Studies from Upper Room Theological University—I was overwhelmed. It humbled me to my core. When you spend your life giving without expectation, recognition like this feels both surreal and sacred. I never imagined my quiet work would lead me here… and I can only reach this moment with your help.

To walk the stage and receive this degree—a moment symbolizing years of sacrifice, resilience, and service—I need financial support for travel and lodging. This recognition came as an awe-inspiring and unexpected surprise, and as someone who serves full-time in the community and runs a nonprofit, the personal cost of attending the graduation is beyond my current means. I’m grateful that you’re even considering being part of this moment. I’ve already covered the commencement fees so that I can participate—I simply need help getting there.

All funds raised will go directly toward:

Airfare

Lodging

Ground transportation

Travel-related expenses required to attend and complete the ceremony

Your support isn’t just helping me attend a ceremony. You are helping elevate humanitarian work, supporting a Veteran’s recognition, and empowering me to continue the mission that earned this honor in the first place—serving, uplifting, and advocating for those who need it most. This degree strengthens the work I’m already doing and opens even more doors to continue serving Veterans, families, and vulnerable communities.

If you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser with your community is just as meaningful. Your voice helps more than you know.

This honor isn’t a finish line — it’s fuel. It reminds me to keep serving with courage, compassion, and conviction.

If my work has ever inspired you, supported you, encouraged you, or reminded you that one person can make a difference, I humbly ask you to stand with me now.

Thank you for believing in service, in purpose, and in the power of community.
