Help Me Attend London School of Musical Theatre

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Evie, and I’m reaching out with the hope that, with your support, I can take up my place on the one-year course at the London School of Musical Theatre (LSMT). This is a place I’ve worked incredibly hard to be offered and I believe the training offered will set me on the right foot as I go out into the industry – it is a dream of mine to attend.

I have recently graduated from Central School of Ballet. Over the past three years living and training in London, my love for musical theatre has grown more and more. During my third year at Central School of Ballet, I had the chance to tour across the UK with Ballet Central, where I was exposed to an incredibly versatile range of works, including more theatric ballets, which opened my eyes to performing not just through movement, but through voice, character, and song. It’s what led me to apply to the London School of Musical Theatre, and it’s why I’m so determined to take up my place there. Musical theatre training will allow me to expand my versatility and open up more doors to work professionally in the industry I love. But unfortunately, due to recent and devastating circumstances, I simply can’t afford to fund this opportunity alone.

In May of this year, I lost my mum to terminal cancer. She was my biggest cheerleader, my safe place, and the person who would have moved mountains to support me through this next chapter. Her passing was incredibly sudden and is still heartbreaking, not just because I lost her, but because I had to watch her suffer while caring for her during her final weeks in hospice. Witnessing her pain while trying to be strong for her was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. She was the most generous, selfless person and kept her diagnosis secret for 3 months until 2 weeks before her passing. She supported me through my whole audition process all while dealing with her illness and I know she was so excited about me attending LSMT in September and I still remember her reaction when I told her, more of a reason as to why I would like to fulfil my place.

Since losing her, me my brother and have been solely responsible for the household bills while her estate remains tied up in probate. This has all been while trying to fund the end of my training at Central School of Ballet. I’ve been doing my best to keep everything afloat, but it’s an enormous weight to carry emotionally and financially.

In November 2024, my dad was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer, and he’s currently undergoing intensive treatment. Watching another parent go through such a difficult battle, just months after losing my mum, is incredibly hard. My dad is unable to support me financially at this time.

While I’ve secured 2 jobs to help me through the year, even with working the maximum hours I can, it simply won’t be enough to cover the £17,000 course fee, let alone the cost of living in London.

I know the arts are a tough path. But I’ve never wanted anything more, and I’m determined not to let grief or finances be the reason I can’t continue doing what I love. That’s why I’m here, humbly asking for help.

If you're able to donate anything, big or small, it would truly mean the world and make a big difference. Your support would not only help me afford this training, but also allow me to honour my mum’s continuous belief in me and keep pursuing the career I’ve dreamed of since I began. She will never get to see me step into this next chapter, but taking up my place at LSMT would help me build a future out of a year that’s tried to take so much away.

I know many people are facing their own struggles, and I don’t take it lightly asking for help, so if you are not in a position to donate, a share of this page would still mean so much. Every little action of support would make a huge difference.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any support you are able to offer. I’ll carry your kindness with me into every audition room, rehearsal studio, and performance.

From the bottom of my hear, thankyou!
Evie
