My motivation to study at Houston Christian High School in the USA comes from my Christian faith, my strong interest in social issues, leadership and simply from the fact that I love the USA.
I am 14 years old and belong to Generation Z. Many in my generation, including myself, are starting to think more about what kind of future we want to be part of and build and what values it should be based on. I have read a little in the history books and for the first time in a very long time, it feels like there is actually a chance to be part of and influence things in the right direction.
To be able to do what I dream of, and maybe one day take responsibility or lead in some way, I need a solid education. I need to learn the right things and grow in the right environment. I truly believe Houston Christian High School can offer that. When I visited the school, I felt that it is built on Christian faith, strong community, clear values, common sense, and responsibility. It may sound like strong words to a young person like me, but in the times, I grew up in, it feels like something that is really needed and simply so right! This is the way forward for my education and my opportunity to form the society we live in this path.
After thinking about this a lot, I feel that a Swedish high school cannot give me the same opportunities. This applies to the type of education, the international environment, the focus on leadership, and the Christian foundation. Just like in the USA, schools in Sweden has changed a lot (woke), and in many ways it no longer fits who I am or what I believe in.
On my own initiative, but with support from my parents, we started looking at schools in the USA. They have seen how serious and motivated I am about this. Because of that, they chose to use their savings so we could travel together to Houston and Phoenix in the fall to visit schools. I have included some photos and a short video from the trip.
After a lot of prayer, conversations, and time to think, we all felt that this is the right decision. It is a big step. My parents are willing to move with me to the USA for two to three years. They can work remotely, and their income covers our living costs, but not the full tuition at Houston Christian High School. The tuition cost is approximately $32,500 for three years (sophomore to senior year). So the funds will be used to cover that.
I aim to apply to the school in 2026 for the start in 2027.
If you are able to help, any amount would mean the world to me. Your belief that I, a 14-year-old boy from Sweden, can grow and make a difference. Your belief that the values we may share still matter and have a future. Through your support, you are helping me get the education I need to grow as a person, a leader, and someone who wants to do good for others, with the hope of contributing positively to American society in the future.
I will continuously provide updates on this page so you know what is happening and where we are in our planning. If you would like, I will also after graduation gladly keep you updated each year on how things are going and what your support has meant to me, others and hopefully for the change we all want.
God bless you, and thank you for taking the time to read this and for considering being part of my journey.
