I’m Satnam — a backend engineer focused on payment systems, CI/CD, and distributed infrastructure.
I’ve spent the last year building real systems:
from re-architecting money transfer flows at a major Canadian bank to building an internal observability dashboard for GitHub Actions.
I’ve also been writing publicly about the backend scars these systems leave behind — the tradeoffs, failures, and lessons that don’t always show up in postmortems.
This August, I’m hoping to attend Fintech DevCon 2025 — a gathering of engineers and founders working on the hardest problems in fintech:
orchestration, ledgers, observability, fraud, and scale.
I reached out and was able to get the $1,195 ticket brought down to $300.
I’ve covered that part — now I’m raising funds to help with the remaining costs: flight and accommodation.
If you’ve gotten value from my writing, or simply want to support someone working to grow in this space — any contribution or reshare would mean a lot.
