I'm about to attend Chapman University's film program (Dodge) in Orange County, California, as a Writing for Film and TV major. Growing up, I didn't have a lot of money, but I've always dreamed of telling stories through film and television. Getting accepted into such a prestigious program is a huge step toward making that dream a reality, but the financial burden is significant. Even after receiving scholarships and taking out loans, I'm still facing a large gap in funding each year. To cover this, I'll need to work a lot while in school, which could make it difficult to fully focus on my studies and take advantage of all the opportunities college has to offer.

I'm excited to go somewhere I can really put my talents and creativity to use, with the opportunity for growth. Chapman is nationally recognized as a great film school, and the Dodge program would give me the knowledge I need to pursue a future in writing by enhancing my filmmaking and storytelling skills. I'll be able to develop stories with meaning, collaborate and learn from those around me, and have access to industry-level equipment while being close to Los Angeles. I would love to be a part of the collaborative environment at Dodge and hope I can teach and learn from others with my unique perspective on film.
