Hi, my name is Albert.
I’ve been accepted into the MFA Creative Writing program at CalArts, an opportunity I’ve worked toward for a long time. It represents a major step in my journey as a writer and a chance to fully dedicate myself to developing my craft.
Right now, I’m facing a serious financial barrier. I live with very limited income and rely on public assistance for basic needs. Without access to graduate loan support, attending CalArts is something I cannot manage on my own, even though I’ve earned the opportunity.
Writing has always been central to my life, not just as a passion, but as a way of understanding people, telling stories, and making sense of the world around me. Being accepted into this program is not just an academic achievement, it is a chance to build a future through the work I care most about.
The funds raised will go directly toward tuition, books, and essential living costs while I’m in the program. This support would allow me to focus fully on my studies without having to step away due to financial pressure.
Any support, whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this campaign, means a great deal and brings me closer to continuing this path.
As a thank you, all donors will be acknowledged in the dedication section of my MFA thesis work, either by name or anonymously depending on preference.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support you’re able to give.
