Help me attend an Animal Training Conference

Hello Everyone

Most people looking at this know me, my names Erin and I am a professional Zookeeper and animal trainer. I LOVE my job working with exotic animals and being part of the community working to help conserve species that are dwindling. Many people think my job is all fun and games such as playing with animals but a lot of it consists of cleaning and scrubbing, taking part in vet care and building/coming up with things to help our animals stay mentally and physically stimulated .Part of being a zookeeper that I am passionate about is positive reinforcement training. This is so important for our animals because it helps give them a choice in what they’re doing such as their vet care. Training helps us build bonds with our animals and form trust between us so that we are able to ask our animals for things like a blood draw or to ultra sound and it’s completely voluntary. I have been able to train many different husbandry or medical behaviors such as ultra sounds, nail clipping, crating, hoof trims, emergency recalls and many other behaviors.

the reason why I would like to fundraise for myself to attend this conference is to learn new ideas/different ways others from other facilities incorporate into their training so that I can be the best keeper I can for my animals. The only way to improve is to stay up to date to new findings/ ideas/ and ways with positive reinforcement training.

So if you can and are able to I would really appreciate some help fundraising to be able to attend this conference and learn from other professionals in the zoological
