I am fundraising to attend the 2026 American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA) Connect conference in New York City. I am grateful to have received a scholarship that covers all the trainings, workshops, and group sessions, but I still need help with the costs of my hotel room in Times Square, travel, and daily provisions. As an emerging social worker, I know that this conference will deepen my commitment to serving others and improve my ability to bring the power of group therapy to my communities.

Last year, at the 2025 AGPA Connect, I participated in what is called 'large group.' In this unique experience, people from many different backgrounds and beliefs came together as a social experiment to see what could happen when diverse voices share the same space. It felt like an active participation in societal discourse—a microcosm of conversations that rarely happen in one place. With our nation, and the world, becoming more divided, I believe it is more important than ever to create opportunities for individuals to come together despite their differences, so we can all learn from one another.

I am passionate about connecting others through group therapy and hope to continue learning and growing at this year’s conference.
