Fundraising for AVM surgery
Daniel Omosigho my younger brother had AVM or arteriovenous malformation since he was a child. He needed URGENT surgery before the end of April 2018 as he started bleeding. We have not done the surgery as we have raised $4,000 so far. 10 to 15 % of such bleed usually result in death while another 20 to 30 % get permanent brain damage from it. I have some funds but we need your HELP to save him please.
Lately, he goes through the seizure you see on the video at least once every three weeks. He had to abandon his tertiary study in his final year due to the AVM. This is made worse by the social stigma and lack of empathy he is exposed to daily. He has since confined himself to our house as he can no longer stand the shame. He has stopped talking to anyone and we have grave concern for his mental health. He has started coughing blood, this is a VERY critical stage of the AVM. The condition has already affected his hearing ability that you have to shout for him to hear and be able to communicate back effectively.
The medical team that diagnosed his condition admitted they cannot perform the surgery safely so he has been referred to seek surgery overseas. The estimate we received is over $35,000 for the procedure. The only reason we delayed treatment is because we cannot afford the treatment but our delay has deteriorated his condition.
