7/13: Goal lowered to $4,500, I should be able to save the rest on my own, hopefully.

Hey there. My name is Cassidy, and I'm a 33yo trans woman living in Henderson, Nevada. Back in the middle of June, my wife and I decided to part ways. It's been a sad and stressful but still largely amicable breakup, but there are other problems coming up that I have to face, mainly looking to the future of my living situation. Come February of next year, my cat Nutmeg and I are going to need a place of our own when the lease on our current apartment expires. I've decided that the Las Vegas valley is no longer a good fit for me, and I'm currently trying to save for a move up to Oregon. The problem is, moves are expensive, especially when you deal with them alone, and my current place of employment does not pay enough to put nearly enough savings aside for the costs of a new apartment (first/last month's rent, application and pet fees, etc.), a moving van and trailer for my car, lodging and food for the drive up, all in a six month window. I'm looking for better work in the meantime, and doing my best to set funds aside, but I know I'm going to need at least some help in making sure that Nutmeg and I can make the journey to our new home in relative financial security.

I'm figuring I'll probably need around $6k to make the trip and have a place ready when I get there. Cost breakdown that I've put together so far is as follows and subject to adjustment as the move gets closer and I get more information:

-$2500-3000 to cover 1st and last month's rent and other move-in costs for a 1bd or studio apartment

-~$2600 for the cost of a UHaul truck and trailer, including estimated fuel costs

-~$200 for a basic hotel room, accounting for possible fees (this is only if I'm unable to stay at a friend's house as my midway rest stop)

-~$100 food costs for the drive

I'm also going to be piecing together things like cookware and smaller articles of furniture, but most of that can wait until I'm established in Oregon. For now I'm only worried about the larger costs of this whole thing as listed above, and I'm grateful to anyone who is able to lend a hand financially. From both me and Nutmeg, thank you.
