Help Me and Nino Stay on the Path to Recovery

Hi friends!
As some of you may already know, I've been struggling with addiction for the last few years. There have been many attempts to get sober on my own, but unfortunately, I was unsuccessful. Addiction is an uphill battle that cannot be fought by oneself.

In my own attempts to stop drinking, I ended up in the emergency room twice within the span of two months due to alcohol withdrawal.

After a terrible episode of DT while lying in an emergency room hospital bed, taking what I thought would be my last breaths, I knew I couldn't fight my alcoholism on my own anymore. Two days later (December 2nd of 2025), I was on a plane to California to check myself into rehab.

Since December 3rd of 2025, I have been entirely clean and sober thanks to the help of rehab, my wonderful fellows supporting me in and out of the rooms of A.A., and an amazing sponsor who is helping me work through the 12 steps. I've built a beautiful community through rehab, and I know I couldn't have stayed sober for this long without them. Thanks to the help I'm receiving, I'm proud to say that I'm going to celebrate 60 days of continuous sobriety this weekend. This is the longest period of time that I've been consistently sober since I was a teenager.

I've been fortunate enough to find an Intensive Outpatient program and sober living accommodations for myself and my cat, Nino. Unfortunately, I am unable to afford to continue to financially support myself and Nino, as I've been out of work for a while now due to my addiction. I will be getting a job as soon as I am out of full-time treatment, but as of right now, I have to cover medical bills for Nino and for me.

This money would allow me to care for him while remaining in treatment to continue to learn the skills I need to stay sober outside of rehab. This is my first time in rehab, and I want it to be my last. I've sadly seen people around me relapse. Some of them have been back to rehab repeatedly because they didn't stay long enough to gain the tools they needed before going back out into the world. Others haven't been as lucky and never made it back after going out to use, staying on the streets, or passing away. I would love the opportunity to continue my treatment so I can become a better friend, a better family member, a better cat parent, and most importantly, better to myself. I deserve to live a happy and sober life, and I'm determined to make that happen.

Any donation would be greatly appreciated and would go directly towards Nino's care and my continued treatment. Thank you all for listening to my story; it means the world. <3
