Hi! I'm Olivier Rochat and I am opening this GoFundMe campaign for my dear friend Suha. Here is her message:
"Hi, my name is Suha Suhail and I am seeking your support and help to evacuate me and my family from Gaza to Egypt.
In November 2023, my children and I barely survived the bombing of our house in Beit Lahia and found refuge at my parents' house in Jabalia Refugee Camp (North of Gaza) along with my mother and my sister Mai.

Since then we have been forced to be on the move in search of shelter from bombing and death. We ran to Deir El Balah, then to Al Maghazi Refugee Camp, and at last to Al-Shifa Hospital - where we spent more than a month without access to food, medicine, health care, and basic life necessities.
Luckily, we were able to evacuate Al Shifa Hospital just a few weeks before the massacre that ensued, saved from death by an inch.
As we evacuated Al Shifa hospital
My second younger sister Khitam (25 years old) - who was 7 months pregnant - had to evacuate her house in Tal-Al Hawa to Khan Younis and then to Rafah - where she gave birth to her first child on Dec 18, 2023, without access to crucial medical care for herself and the newborn. In search of a safe place for her 4-month-old baby, they are currently hiding from bombs in a tent in Khan Younis.

No Home for Return!
On Dec 12, 2023, our next-door neighbor’s house was bombed and our home was completely affected and destroyed in the aftermath.
What remains from my house
While the loss of our home was devastating, no words can suffice to express the pain of losing my beloved brother Adam. He was 23 years old and the only brother I had. If that isn't cruel enough, no family member was able to be with him in his last moments and he was buried alone by our neighbors in the street as the cemetery is under threat of bombing.
Due to a lack of communication owing to the network problems caused by constant bombing, my mother received this harrowing news 10 days later.

My family and I are still traumatized! It is our biggest loss! We have been forced to be homeless and starved but none of that hurts as much as losing a loved one in this manner. Not only our relationships but their bodies are obliterated.
Right now, we have nowhere to go and no life-sustaining necessities. We are fighting to stay alive every second!
Starvation drove us to ground bird and cow feed
to make bread for our children
We have the right to a dignified life like any other person, hence, I seek your help to evacuate.
The only safe option and hope left for us is to travel to Egypt. Your donations and generous contributions will help us to seek a safer life where we are not scared of being turned into rubble and pieces.
We also had dreams and aspirations, but now
our only desire is that our children survive
Currently, people can travel through “Hala for Travel and Tourism Company,” located in Egypt, which demands 5,000 USD per adult and 2,500 USD per child for border crossing services. Having grown up in an open-air prison, with minimal savings that have been exhausted and house bombed over the past 7 months we have no means of paying for this.
Below is the list of people who need to be evacuated:
- My mother who is 57 years old
- My sister (Mai) - 26 years old
- Myself (Suha) - 30 years old, my husband Alaa - 32 years old, and our two children (Qusai - 7 years old and Roza - 1-year-old).
- My sister Khitam - 25 years old, her husband Mohammed - 25 years old, and their little 4-month-old baby.
The approximate cost breakdown:
- Permit to leave Gaza through Egypt: a total of €36,000 - this is to get the permit only!
- A total of around €8,500 to cover our stay in Egypt and the cost of living for 2-3 months, until we can find a solution for our future.
- A total of €1,500 will be used to cover GoFundMe transaction fees (2.9% plus $0.25 per donation).
We ask you for your support and help to evacuate my family to a safe place. Any small contribution will make a huge difference!"
