My name is Martin (26m), and I am reaching out for help as I navigate a challenging period in my life. For years (my whole life), I've been living with several chronic health conditions, including anxiety, GERD, fibromyalgia, nerve pain, IBS, and severe chronic pain. These conditions have significantly impacted my ability to work and live a normal life.

Because of the constant pain and other symptoms, I've had to stop working. Doctors and Social Security representatives (known as NAV in Norwegian) have told me not to work. In Norway, I receive a form of disability support known as "uføretrygd" (I don't get uføretrygd yet. I am waiting for it, so I get "AAP," that gives me between 50-65% of "uføretrygd"), but it's not enough to cover all of my basic living expenses, especially the unpredictable costs of my health. Because of this, I've had to call my parents for help, and I'm currently in debt for health-related costs, my dog's care (food, vet bills, and more), and other essentials.

What I'm Facing

Living with chronic pain is an everyday struggle. Simple tasks like vacuuming, making food, and taking my dog out can be incredibly difficult. I always take my dog out, no matter how much pain I'm in, but the constant need for medical care, prescriptions, and frequent doctor visits has created a financial strain that is hard to manage.

On top of my own needs, I have a beloved companion, my dog Rex. He is my greatest source of comfort and a constant motivation for me to keep going. I want to provide him with the best care possible, but the costs for his food, vet visits, medications, and other supplies are difficult to cover.

Medical Costs: This includes medications, doctor visits, hospital and ER visits, and other pharmacy needs.

Basic Living Expenses: To cover rent, utilities (power and water), groceries, and necessary household supplies like laundry and dishwashing detergent.

Car Maintenance: To ensure I can get to medical appointments, I need to keep my car running. This includes fuel, insurance, and maintenance.
