My Name is Holly,

I am a full time Artist living in my van with my dog, Burdock. My transmission is on the end of its life. It drives for now but it is going to break down at any moment. Its going to cost 5,500 dollars to replace, or will be living out of a backpack again.

I have been looking for school buses that are the same price or cheaper. Getting a school bus is looking like a better option than replacing the transmission, considering the vans engine could fail even if I get a new transmission installed.

The only problem is the affordable school buses are 3+ states away from me. So traveling to the bus, initial bus maintenance, and the groundwork for building the inside will require me to increase the goal by a little bit.

As well as a full time artist I am a dedicated activist, my van is a mobile protest and I initially started living out of my vehicle in protest of capitalsm. Through out the 8 years ive been on the road I often got harassed by the cops regularly. Now that homelessness is federally illegal, they have been following me around more than ever before. They're saying they can take me to jail for sleeping in my van- or simply sleeping in a public place anywhere in town. EVEN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY.

Hoping I can get something to replace my van so I can drive away from this town and travel somewhere safer for me and the pup.
