Help me and my Cats get a new Home please

Hey everyone, I'm Sven and the organizer for this fundraiser for Julija, since Latvia has a few restrictions when it comes to fundraising, I'll give her the word so she can explain her situation better.

Hello everyone, my name is Julija, but people know me as Nana. I'm asking for your help to be able to move out from my current apartment and start anew. I am in a very tight situation, since my apartment is up for auction on June 3rd, and depending on how it goes, I'd have to leave this place as soon as one or two weeks after the auction. This would put me in the streets with my two little cats and all my stuff. The world pandemic hasn't helped either, since I haven't been able to find a job since the beginning of the year (the situation was already hard, but with the pandemic people stopped hiring). So I'm in the need to turn to crowdfunding to be able to at least get a place to live until this situation subsides and I'm able to get a new job. Yes, the government authorities in Latvia can kick me out even during the pandemic. And the clock is ticking.
Let me tell you what happened to be in the position I am right now. Back in 2011 I bought an apartment from my grandma, but following government's guides, I couldn't take possession of the apartment until my grandma passed away. When she did pass, I took the steps to take possession, but then the government officials told me the sale contract was invalid, so the only way I could take possession was to inherit the apartment, which I couldn't do since I didn't have my mother's birth certificate and there was no way to get a copy (she was born a long way from here, in a foreign country). The apartment was put on "ice" meaning no one could take possession of it, but the debts kept increasing. This situation dragged on for about 3 years, in which I consulted with lawyers and government officials to try to solve the situation. Some officials suggested to stop paying the debts that were piling up, since the apartment was "no one's" at the moment and probably was going to be repossessed by the same government, so I took that option.
Little did I know that this would carry on to place me in a current debt of a little over 22 thousand euros. Turns out that the same government that told me the sale contract that made me the legal owner of the apartment, the one they deemed "invalid", suddenly became "valid" (in truth, it was valid all this time, and no government official was able to tell me so, even after repeated questioning by my lawyers) and so, I was sued by the value of all the debts piling up from the apartment by the government. My lawyers tried to fight back, but since they were defending against a government institution, the odds were very low. The court ruled I was to pay ALL the debts they initially suggested me to NOT pay, and that I was the official owner since 2011 (the moment where the sale was performed) which turned out in a 10 thousand euros debt.
I decided to sell grandma's apartment in 2017. I was able to pay off that debt, and buy a smaller apartment, but then the equivalent to the IRS ruled that I had taken possession of the apartment in 2017, and sold it in less than a year (you'd think one court ruling would overcome the other since the first court decided I was the owner since 2011, but no), I had to pay sale taxes equivalent to 20% of the profit sold. Which ended up in me having to pay the IRS another 10 thousand euros plus interest. Which of course I didn't have at the moment. This turned into a never-ending spiral that started to pile up penalties and interest rates, and today the debt rose up to over 20 thousand euros.
And the govt is taking possession of my smaller apartment to auction it and pay off the debt (which it won't since it's being auctioned for about 11 thousand euros now, but it's not sure whether it will go up for that price). Which leaves me with 9 thousand euros still indebted to the government at best. At worst, I'm looking at an apartment that won't be auctioned, but it will become a property of the state, and still owe the government 20 thousand euros. This is why I set that goal for this campaign.

It would mean everything to me to get your help. I want you to know that I have been battling against this situation since the start of 2015, and lawyer fees and everything else has been paid by myself, which has left me without any funds to continue. The only two options I have left are either pay the debt, or be a homeless woman. I have no family to turn to, which leaves me trusting your kindness.

And lastly, I want you to know that this government debt wasn't due to irresponsible behavior, nor irresponsible loans from banks. I have never had any debts with banks nor loan offices. This debt was due to poor government advice from the Office of Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, the ones that were supposed to guide me and my lawyers throughout the process without any hiccups.
¡Thank you all for reading my story, and I hope you can help me!
