It's almost been a year since I was diagnosed with Non Differential Adenocarcinoma, Pancreatic Cancer. I did 8 out of 12 chemo treatments. I ended up with infections, sepsis, neutropenia and many hospitalizations because of the chemo. My doctors took me off of it. I had the Whipple Surgery on December 28th. They took my gallbladder, duodenem, part of my pancreas, some of my small intestines, my common bile duct and 28 lymph nodes. Then they reconstructed my digestion sysyem. I am still recovering from that. They said it could take up to 6 months for recovery. I start more chemo treatments on March 2nd at the Cancer Center at UNMC. This time I will be getting chemo through my port and also getting Chemo in a pill form. I'm praying to god that I will be able to handle these chemos and that they will be nothing like the last chemos I had. I have to go to Omaha once a week for these chemo treatments. I do have a few thousand inMedical bills to pay back for the one month that I didn't have insurance. I had a one month lapse because when my FMLA ran out from my job, they let me go. And it was close to the beginning of the month. I went on right away and found a good Marketplace insurance but it wouldn't kick in until the 1st of the following month. We are having issues affording food and I have no idea how we will afford going to Omaha once a week. I know money is tight for everyone right now.
