Hi, my name is Nelly, and I’m fundraising for urgent medical care that I cannot afford on my own.
I live with multiple chronic illnesses and disabilities, including severe iron deficiency/anemia, asthma, POTS, migraines, ADHD, anxiety, PTSD, PPPD, and other ongoing health issues. Right now, my condition has become so severe and overwhelming that I can barely function day to day. I struggle to get out of bed, eat, drink enough, take medication properly, work, or study. I can barely even stand longer than 5 minutes without everything hurting and my body getting exhausted.
The treatment that has helped me the most in the past is an iron infusion. When I have received it before, it helps me for around 1 to 1.5 years and made it possible for me to keep going with my studies and daily life. Unfortunately, I’m currently not getting the help I need through public healthcare quickly enough, even though my symptoms are seriously affecting my ability to function and live like a normal human being. The problem is mostly that it’s not acutely life threatening but in the long term it is, but even going to the hospital because of this doesn’t help because the levels aren’t ”acute/bad” enough to receive emergency care.
Because I am sick, disabled, and unable to work or study properly, I do not have the income needed to pay for private care which apparently is the only way to get help in this country. I am raising money to cover an iron infusion, doctor visits, lab tests, medication, travel costs, and any other urgent treatment related to my recovery, possibly for other illnesses as well but the most urgent is now anemia. Anemia also affecting how my adhd meds work because they’re driven by dopamine which is fueled by iron if that made any sense. Think it like trying to drive a car without gas.
My first goal is to afford the care that can help me get stable again. Any donation, no matter how small, would mean so much to me. And if you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser would help more than you know, so please, the very least you can do is to share this, thank you so much in advance! This means a lot to me.
Thank you for reading and for helping me get a real chance to recover and function.
