After 13 years of seeing many doctors and enduring numerous hospital stays, I finally received a diagnosis from my immunologist: Eosinophilic Asthma. This condition involves a high number of eosinophils in my blood, making it difficult for oxygen to be transported throughout my body. While a normal eosinophil reading is 114 or less, mine was over 3000 at the time of diagnosis. Last May, I began receiving a biologic infusion, which led to significant improvements by December. Unfortunately, my insurance now requires a copay to continue this treatment, which I receive once a month. Without it, my life expectancy is minimal at best.
The progress with the treatment was slow but steady, making it easier for me to breathe. However, I haven't been able to afford the treatments for the past five months due to the copay. As a result, I am now on oxygen 24/7, along with steroids and breathing treatments. This fundraiser aims to help me cover the copay so I can resume the infusions and improve my quality of life. Your support will make a significant difference in my journey to better health.
