I always said I would never use this platform, as I equated it to flying a sign on the street corner. But just like some of those folks, I am out of options. Something else I say a lot is 'never say never,' so here goes. Yesterday, I went to the doctor and finally got a specific diagnosis for my gut issues that have been causing debilitating panic attacks and have taken over my life. It’s called small intestine bacterial overgrowth, or SIBO for short. Getting a definite diagnosis is a relief on some level, but the only treatment is an antibiotic that is very expensive, and my insurance won’t cover it. Without it, my condition will continue to get worse. My digestion will keep slowing, and things sit in my gut for days, fermenting and dumping toxins back into my bloodstream. I already fast, eat clean, and take digestive enzymes—I am doing my best to manage, but I am barely functioning. This also puts a tremendous weight on my precious husband. The funds from this fundraiser will go directly to paying for the medication I need to treat SIBO so I can recover and return to work. If anyone can help, not only would it be greatly appreciated, but I would pay you back incrementally over time as I am able to work again.
