Help Me Afford Fall Semester Tuition @ St John’s

Hi, my name is Kayla Steen, and I am fundraising for the remainder of my fall-semester college tuition due to St John’s University as things have become urgent in my quest for financial support.
On Monday, Sept 27, 2021, at 7:00 pm, I will be unregistered from my classes at St. Johns University.
Since before the start of classes, I have continued to work tirelessly to secure more funds to satisfy my tuition bill. While I have managed to decrease my tuition from 60k to around 22k with the help of grants and scholarships, the remaining federal loan offers dont make the slightest dent in the wall built against me. Leaving me with no choice but to accept my final resort by applying for a private student loan. A process that was to no avail, as I do not have a credit-worthy co-signer at my disposal.
In the days nearing the Sept 27 deadline, it has been hard for me to remain optimistic while being anxious about obtaining the nearly 11k needed to secure my position during the fall semester.
As an unemployed/self-reliant artist lacking the access and privileges of generational wealth, I remain doubtful of how to resolve this issue without the support of friends, family, and those who want to see me succeed.
Since losing my job in 2020 due to the pandemic, I have been on this journey. Beginning initially at Xavier University of Louisiana and now at St. John’s University, and while I have remained committed to my endeavors as an independent artist, I realized that without a secure career my dreams both on and off stage are even more far fetched.
Graduating from university is crucial to my future, and having your support would be more than amazing. It would be life-changing.
