My name is Rebecca, and I am a childhood cancer survivor. This year, I have been invited to represent the state of Mississippi in Washington, DC, where I’ll be advocating for childhood cancer research through the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. As someone who has personally faced the challenges of childhood cancer, I understand what these families are going through, and I am passionate about making a difference for them.
This opportunity means so much to me—not only will I be raising awareness and much-needed funds, but I’ll also be working to bring hope and resources back to our local childhood cancer families. The funds I raise will help cover the costs of my hotel, flight, and meals during the trip. My goal is to return to Mississippi with new ideas, connections, and hopefully, momentum to help build a children’s hospital and secure more federal funding for research and care.
I am incredibly grateful for the continued support I receive here on the coast. Your encouragement and generosity have always lifted me up, and I hope you’ll join me in this next step. Together, we can make a real difference for children and families facing cancer in our community and beyond. Thank you for believing in me and supporting this important cause!
