My name is Nora Pryor and I am currently in my freshman year of college. Ever since my high school band director showed me a video of a drum corps during band camp my freshman year, I have dreamed of being able to participate in this activity. After a grueling audition season, I was able to earn a contract with the Blue Stars, one of the best drum and bugle corps in the world! It is going to be a phenomenal, life-changing summer and I am so, so grateful for this opportunity; however, it is very expensive.

If you don't know what Drum Corps International is, it's the world's premier marching band activity- picture it like the "NFL of the marching arts." I will spend the whole summer with the Blue Stars, learning and building a field show and then touring the country to compete with it. I am so fortunate and blessed to have earned a contract. Being able to march with the Blue Stars this summer will help me not only to develop my skills as a musician but also develop my skills as a person. It is one of the most challenging, rewarding activities that a young adult can participate in and will expand my capacity for teamwork, endurance, and excellence.
