Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out because I need help accessing a surgery that will significantly improve my health and quality of life.
Since I was young, I’ve dealt with ongoing and worsening jaw pain caused by severe TMJ dysfunction. What started as discomfort has progressed into something that now affects multiple areas of my health and daily functioning.
At 25, my jaw has shifted to the point where it is now contributing to:
• Chronic migraines (which I’ve experienced since I was 16)
• Sleep apnea
• Vertigo and balance issues
• Neck, shoulder, and facial pain
• Difficulty chewing and speaking comfortably
• Ongoing muscle tension and fatigue
After years of being misdiagnosed and seeing multiple specialists, including three neurologists, there is now clear agreement: my migraines and many of my symptoms are directly linked to my jaw.
To manage the migraines, I currently rely on medication that costs over $1,000 per month. While insurance has covered most of this, that coverage is ending in July. Without it, I don’t have a sustainable way to manage my symptoms long-term.
The recommended solution is orthodontic treatment followed by double jaw surgery. This procedure would correct the structural issue at the root of all of this, rather than continuing to treat symptoms one at a time.
I’ve been able to arrange a payment plan for braces, but the surgery itself comes with a cost of $7,500, which I cannot afford on my own.
If you’re able to contribute, it would mean more than just financial support—it would help me:
• Reduce or eliminate chronic pain
• Improve my sleep and daily functioning
• Potentially stop relying on extremely expensive medication
• Regain a sense of normalcy in my day-to-day life
If you’re not in a position to donate, sharing this page would also mean a lot.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any support you can offer. It truly makes a difference.
