With the support of their engineering teacher, a dedicated team of fourth-grade students in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, has spent nearly a year designing, building, and refining an advanced VEX IQ robot. Their hard work and perseverance throughout the 2025–2026 VEX IQ Robotics “Mix and Match” Challenge have paid off in a big way.
The team’s performance in local and regional events has been outstanding, earning them several awards along the way. Their achievement of the Creativity Award at Regionals secured their place at the VEX IQ Robotics World Championship in St. Louis, Missouri. This accomplishment is a true testament to their dedication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Over the past year, they have taken on every aspect of the process—from research and design to programming, testing, and competition—carefully documenting their progress in their engineering notebook.
These students shine well beyond robotics. All three are members of the National Elementary Honor Society and actively give back to their school community. They serve as Safety Patrol leaders and volunteer with programs like Stampede to Read, helping younger students build confidence and literacy skills. They are not only strong students but also role models among their peers.
Outside the classroom, they stay active in sports such as soccer, Tae Kwon Do, and hockey. Whether on the field or in competition, they consistently demonstrate teamwork, dedication, and a positive attitude.
Now, as they prepare to travel to St. Louis at the end of April, they are reaching out for additional support.
There are significant expenses associated with attending a world-level competition, and we want to ensure these students can fully participate in this incredible experience without added financial strain.
Your support can help make that happen.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward helping this team compete on the world stage and represent their school and community with pride. By donating or sharing this message, you are investing in these students, their education, and the future of STEM learning.
We would also like to recognize our Leader in Me Lighthouse School, for fostering an environment that empowers students to grow and succeed. A special thank you to Vex coaches for their dedication to supporting all VEX IQ Robotics teams, and their time, mentorship, and commitment to guiding these students throughout their journey.
Thank you for your support—it truly means everything to these students and their families.
