Help Mckinzee: Support Her Heart Journey

Donation protected
Hello my daughter Mckinzee Jackson, age 1, has always been a healthy baby girl. Until recently, on May 13th, Mckinzee was up playing with her sisters in the living room. While playing with her oldest sister, her sister ran to the room and stated Mckinzee was not moving. We rushed in to find her unresponsive. Mckinzee was rushed to the hospital by dad while doing CPR, and upon arrival, Mckinzee was starting to respond. The doctors stated it was cardiac arrest, and if it was not for dad, she would not be here. While conducting tests, they noticed Mckinzee had an irregular heartbeat. They then transported her to Wolfson Children's Hospital. During her stay, they conducted multiple tests and scans to see the underlying issue and what is causing the irregular heartbeats and sudden cardiac arrest, but nothing at the time could be found. She was placed on medication (beta blockers) to help control the rhythm. After a two-week stay, we were sent home to be monitored with a heart monitor for 30 days. After 30 days of monitoring, everything looked fine until recently, on June 22nd, while leaving the Cheesecake Factory at the town center, Mckinzee went back into sudden cardiac arrest. Luckily, the hospital was nearby again, and upon arrival, this time Mckinzee had no pulse. CPR was conducted immediately by staff, and Mckinzee once again started to respond. She is now back at Wolfson Children's Hospital with no answers on why this is taking place. All testing is still coming back normal, and no signs of what’s causing these episodes. At this time, we are asking for donations to help/support expenses for Mckinzee in this time of research and stay at the hospital to figure out what is causing this issue of sudden cardiac arrest. Also, we are in need to purchase an AED (automated external defibrillator), which is a portable device that can be used to treat a person whose heart has suddenly stopped. Mckinzee right now is too small for an ICD and it would be a high-risk procedure to conduct. In the meantime, she is on beta blockers to help maintain a steady rhythm for her heart. They are also wanting to place a monitor underneath her skin to be monitored at all times, which lasts up to 1 to 2 years. We do not have any answers, but we are needing support at this time with expenses to continue the care plan and more research and testing on this matter. Thank you for your support and prayers at this time. If you have any familiar stories that may help us, please reach out to us. Anything will help at this time.

Thank you.
