Help Our Little Miracle, Mckenzy

Our little boy, Mckenzy, is only 10 days old, and he is already facing one of the biggest battles of his young life.

Mckenzy is our first baby — a little miracle we waited almost 10 years for. After such a long wait and so many hopes and prayers, we never imagined that his first days in this world would be spent in a hospital.

Shortly after he was born, Mckenzy was taken to the NICU at Mater Mother’s Hospital, where he has remained ever since. He was diagnosed with a rare heart condition called AORPA (Anomalous Origin of the Right Pulmonary Artery from the Ascending Aorta), and he will need heart surgery and ongoing specialist care to help give his heart and lungs the best chance to grow and develop.

At only 10 days old, he is currently receiving CPAP breathing support along with several medications to support his little body and help keep him strong.

He is tiny, but he has already shown us just how strong he can be. Every day, we stay by his side, hoping and praying for the day he becomes stronger and we can finally bring him home.

We have always worked hard to provide for our family and never imagined that we would have to ask others for help. But with Mckenzy's ongoing hospital care, treatment, upcoming surgery and the unexpected expenses that have come with this difficult time, the financial burden has become more than we can manage on our own.
