Mazen, his wife, Rana, and their 4 children are refugees from war-torn Syria, who were resettled in Reno by the Northern Nevada International Center (NNIC) 5 years ago. They are an ambitious and resourceful family, and all 6 of them have made incredible strides assimilating here.
Mazen Alkherej is a highly-skilled and gifted tailor, and after working at a dead-end job for nearly 5 years, finally managed to break free and open his own tailoring shop 3 months ago!
In Syria, he owned several successful tailoring shops for many years. But after several relatives were assassinated, and the family's home was destroyed under Assad's regime, they had no recourse but to flee the country.
Mazen's lease requires him to purchase and install a permanent sign above his shop by March 1, 2022. The cost of this will exceed $2,000!
Please consider making a contribution - large or small - so Mazen will not risk having to abandon his dream just because he cannot afford a sign.
And if you're local, please consider visiting the shop for all your tailoring needs:

Look for the banner above the shop; it's there temporarily until we can replace it with a real sign.
THANKS SO MUCH!!!
