A bit about the Shaheen family situation:

They used to live in a lovely home in Khan Younis, which has since been hit and destroyed (no casualties luckily) and they have been living in dire conditions since late November 2023. They are now living in a tent in Rafah, in one of the many overpopulated refuges.

As you can see from the family photo, the Shaheen family includes the parents (Rawyah and Talaat), four boys (Maysarah taking the picture), and the youngest daughter is Shaam (4). The young boy in the red pants is Adam (8).

The boy in red, named after his father Talaat (13) and the boy next to his mum is Diaa (12) both have special needs, intellectual disabilities and Autism. They require a lot of attention, attentiveness and care, which has been mentally taxing on my Aunt, Rawyah. Everyone in this family is both physically and mentally exhausted and with no home to protect them, they are incredibly vulnerable.

How can we help them?

The eldest son Maysarah is 19 (picture below), was studying at University to be a Veterinarian and was entering his final year before the war started. He was typically the sole provider for his family as his father is unwell and so he took the duties to care for his family. He worked vigorously alongside his University courses.

The aim of this GoFundMe is to help raise funds for Maysarah to leave to go to Egypt and continue his studies as well as work alongside in order for him to provide for his younger brothers and parents. As you may be aware, the cost of crossing the border is approx £5000 and Maysarah will also need funding to keep him afloat whilst he looks for jobs in Egypt and seeks out Universities to complete his studies and qualify as a veterinarian. Please help raise the funds for this young man and his family.
