Help Mayra Stafford Rebuild Her Home After Devastating Hurri

My name is Jim Stafford, and I'm reaching out on behalf of my amazing mother, Mayra Stafford. For decades, my mom dedicated her life to helping others as a beloved teacher and high school principal. She poured her heart and soul into shaping young minds, providing guidance and leadership to so many in our community. If you’ve ever met her, you know that she has an endless well of kindness, patience, and a deep desire to help those around her.

It has been just over a year since we lost my father, a loss that was deeply felt by our family and friends. My mother has been doing her best to move forward, but life has thrown another challenge her way. Recently, in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, a large tree fell on her home in Blowing Rock, North Carolina, causing significant damage. The tree came down while my sister, Patricia Lackey, her fiancé, and her two children, Ada and Gatlin, were inside the house. Thankfully, they were unharmed, but the home is now unlivable. They have all been displaced and are currently staying in a motel.

With the cost of tree removal, repairs, and temporary housing piling up, my mother is facing financial stress and needs some help from the community she’s given so much to.

I live in Lake Placid, Florida, and although I’m doing everything I can to support my mom from a distance, we are asking for your help in covering the costs of removing the tree, repairing her home, and helping with temporary housing expenses while these repairs are made.

My mom has always been there for others, whether it was through her work in education or lending a helping hand to anyone in need. Now, I’m asking for your help in supporting her during this difficult time.
