This past year, my sister, Mayra, has faced one of the hardest battles of her life, breast cancer, and after months of courage, pain, and perseverance, she is finally cancer-free following her double mastectomy.

While we are so thankful and relieved that the cancer is gone, her journey isn’t over. She has endured multiple surgeries, weeks of recovery, and the emotional toll that comes with fighting such a life-changing diagnosis. On top of that, she’s a loving mother to two beautiful kids with austism, ages 5 and 6, who have needed her through it all — even when she was struggling to stay strong for herself.

Now that she’s healing, the medical bills, recovery expenses, and lost income have become overwhelming. She’s doing everything she can to rebuild her strength and provide for her children, but she needs a little extra help to get through this next chapter.

Este último año, mi hermana Mayra ha enfrentado una de las batallas más difíciles de su vida: el cáncer de mama. Después de meses de valentía, dolor y perseverancia, finalmente está libre de cáncer tras haberse sometido a una doble mastectomía.

Aunque estamos profundamente agradecidos y aliviados de que el cáncer haya desaparecido, su camino aún no ha terminado. Ella ha pasado por múltiples cirugías, semanas de recuperación y el impacto emocional que conlleva enfrentar un diagnóstico tan difícil. Además, es una madre amorosa de dos hermosos niños autistas, de 5 y 6 años, quienes la han necesitado en todo momento, incluso cuando ella misma luchaba por mantenerse fuerte.

Ahora que está en proceso de sanación, los gastos médicos, los costos de recuperación y la pérdida de ingresos se han vuelto abrumadores. Está haciendo todo lo posible por recuperar su fuerza y seguir brindando lo mejor a sus hijos, pero necesita un poco de ayuda para superar esta siguiente etapa.
