I have a very rare disease called SPS . It is a 1 in a million diagnosis. I went from having spasms of the muscles that lasted long enough to brake bones, to being a paraplegic but still the spasms continued. I still have spasms in my lungs and stomach so breathing and chocking are a daily concern. Since being diagnosed,I have lived on different forms of medication some of had very bad side effects on my body.. After so long, my doctor here in Florida told me to find another doctor that could offer more specialized help because without a different approach I WILL DIE. After almost a year of searching I requested help from the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and they responded back in 2 weeks with an appointment. However my appointment is this TUESDAY the 23rd! It is with my whole heart I pray and ask of anyone who knows me, my husband and my 2 little girls that I want to see grow up- Please help me help to my appointment on Tuesday! Getting to this appointment will change my life. ***I wanted to let everyone know that I did get to the airport in Miami for the Tuesday appointment. We ended up driving down to the airport because we couldn’t afford a rental car. Our plan was to just get there, Jim would have to push me the 1.8 miles in my wheelchair to we got to the hotel. The hotel manager had said they would work with the Mayo & my insurance to make sure the bill was paid. About 2 miles from the Miami airport the rain was so heavy and Miami has terrible roads, drivers, and lacks sign directions. I was so worried my poor 21 year old being given this huge responsibility of taking care of her little sisters and herself.
When we got inside it was worse, we found out we weren’t sitting together even though it was told it was a medical needy situation. The next flight we would miss and there was no connector flights to rochchester till Tuesday afternoon and we would land around 4. I would of missed all of my appointments. Please read my updates for more.
