On October 28th, Hurricane Melissa made landfall as a Category 5 hurricane in Jamaica. Now, they need our help. It is going to take a village, as they say.

As many of you know, our workers at Maynard Farms come from Jamaica. We have a tight knit group who we truly consider family. Year after year, they come to our orchard to help us for the season, working tirelessly until the job is done. You may see the market staff, but many people don’t realize the behind the scenes. Truly, none of this would be possible without them. They are proud of this work, and are always sending money home to their families as well as giving back to the community to their churches, schools and elderly. In spite of the worry and uncertainty back at home facing our amazing crew, they are staying to see out the season, trying to earn as much as possible so they can start rebuilding.
