Hi, we are fundraising for our beloved friend, Mayita (Maya Regev). Some of you met Mayita at her little restaurant "Mayita Mamita" in Tulum.

What's Happening

Mayita has been facing a series of frightening health emergencies. She has experienced several blackouts, and most alarmingly, lost her memory for an entire week. The local doctors have given her conflicting diagnoses that contradict each other, adding stress to an already terrifying situation. She has already spent more than $3,000 USD in the local emergency hospitals, and other friends had to step in to help pay for some of the medical bills. And this is only the beginning.

What is ahead it will be even more costly and due to these urgent health issues, she has been forced to close her restaurant, a one-woman business that was her livelihood and passion. Therefore, the inability to work means no income...

What She Needs

Mayita urgently needs to seek specialized medical care and undergo extensive testing to get proper answers about her condition. Right now, we're exploring the safest way for her to travel, as we're unsure if flying could put her health at risk due to neurological condition. She will be going to Playa del Carmen or Cancún for an MRI to check if there is a brain tumor. Other doctors have mentioned the possibility that her blackouts were epileptic seizures, or that we could be looking at lupus.
