I’m a single mother reaching out for help for my brave 11-year-old daughter, Maycee, who has been diagnosed with a rare and incredibly painful condition called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS).
CRPS is a chronic neurological disease where the nervous system malfunctions, causing the brain to send nonstop pain signals, even when there’s no injury. It often starts after something small like a sprain or bruise, but the pain becomes constant, severe, and life-altering. Nicknamed “the suicide disease” because the pain can be so intense and unrelenting.
In Maycee's case, CRPS has taken away her ability to walk. Even something as simple as a light breeze or wearing socks can cause her unbearable pain. She often loses blood flow to her leg, and now, tragically, the disease has spread up to her hip, making her condition even more serious. If we don’t act quickly, CRPS can spread to other parts of her body and make recovery much harder.
Her doctors are confident that with Scrambler Therapy, a non-invasive treatment that helps retrain the brain to stop sending false pain signals, she has a strong chance of walking again. But sadly, this treatment isn’t covered by insurance.
We are trying to raise $10,000 to begin therapy as soon as possible. This is a lifetime condition, which also means ongoing doctor visits and continuous care.
As a single mom with her father no longer in the picture, I’m doing everything I can. I work full-time and am actively searching for a part-time job just to keep up with the growing costs, but we need help to act fast before the disease spreads any further.
Despite everything she’s going through, my daughter continues to inspire everyone around her. Out of her own pain, she created a small business called Cuddle Buddies creating emotional support Beans made out of socks and stuffing. She handmakes each one with love and sells them at local farmers markets to bring joy and comfort to others going through tough times.
She told me, “If I can’t stop the pain, maybe I can still spread joy.”
Her strength, creativity, and heart are beyond words.
Now I’m fighting to give her the chance to live the childhood she deserves. To walk, to play, to go back to school and to simply be a kid again.
Please consider donating, sharing this page, or keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. Every bit helps, and we are so grateful for your support.
With love and hope,
