Help Maya with her medical care

Hi everyone,

my name is Joanna and this is my baby, Maya. I’m 20 years old and this dog has been my family and savior for the last 7 years. She’s an adorable bouvier des flandres who needs your help. For the last 8 to 10 months, she has had a severe and persistent ear infection that has been causing her a lot of pain and inflammation. I have had to see her suffer everyday, knowing that there’s nothing more I can do because the vet cost has simply left me financially broke. If you have a pet, then you understand how painful it is to worry endlessly about them for months because they are suffering everyday.

I’m a single child and was raised by a single dad who got me Maya when I was 13. My dad always took care of my financial needs but has been out of work and terribly sick.

I am a student on loans and bursaries and work part time as well. I do not have much savings, but I have spent thousands of dollars that left me penniless now. Everything I had, plus little help from my sick dad, went towards taking care of my Maya’s health. Each vet visit, emergency procedures , checkups, cytology, culture tests, and medications for maya costs me hundreds of dollars at each vet appointment.

Her condition is not getting better. My poor Maya continues to suffer because the bacteria that is causing the infection is very resistant and extremely difficult to treat. Usually, it takes at least a few months to heal, but in Maya’s case, because she is a sensitive dog in general, no remedy was found to bring about a full recovery because it may potentially be due to something more serious and life threatening. Only further veterinarian visits, tests, procedures, medications and more money can restore her to a healthy condition.

I love my dog so much and I don’t want to keep seeing her in pain like this, but I need some financial help to keep paying for her medical bills. I need her to get better because I can’t lose her. She is what keeps me well and sane in life and gives me the strength to go on and deal with my dad’s medical issues.
