Howdy! After a long year of battling our landlord over unsafe living conditions due to a faulty foundation causing the house to physically shift and rip our floors apart, as well as black mold growth and consistent flooding due to maintenance not being properly conducted, my roommates and I have made the tough decision to remove ourselves from this lease early for our own health and safety. After reaching out to multiple legal avenues, it appears our only option is to remain on the lease until it terminates on its originally signed date, 05/15/26.

Staying in this house is not an option. We have three animals that have consistently cut up feet due to the poor long-term maintenance of the house, and the black mold growth is becoming increasingly concerning as it continues to grow and develop (mind you, we’ve had maintenance come for the mold and they wiped it off with a washcloth and threw paint over it).

Not to mention, Sydney and Sam’s jobs both closed due to the declining economy, and while temporary employment has been obtained, it will not be enough to cover moving expenses.

Maya, Sydney, and Sam could really use your help in securing funding to get us safely moved without putting us further into debt.
