Hello, I'm Maya Waid, a sophomore at UNC pursuing a double major in Media and Journalism and Global Leadership. My educational journey has provided me with valuable opportunities to enhance my journalism skills through coursework and extracurricular activities.

The UNC Hussman School of Media and Journalism has selected me to cover the Summer Olympics in Paris, France. The selection process for this prestigious trip was highly competitive, and I am honored to be one of the twenty students chosen.

Participating in this program comes with significant expense and I am actively seeking outside funding and donations to make these experiences possible. The estimated cost of attending and covering the Olympics in Paris is close to $10,000. I received a grant from UNC for $5,000 and I am hoping to raise the money for the remaining cost through donations. Your support would be immensely appreciated.
