I’m Maison or Maxx , I found out December 18,2023 that I had metastatic breast cancer. It definitely took me by surprise because it’s so rare for males to get breast cancer but a few months before my diagnosis I felt a lump in my chest, I lost over 80 pounds this year so naturally you notice things you didn’t before. I let my doctor know & she wanted to get a mammogram. During this time I was having severe pain in my lower back which I thought came from working but the doctors at olol said it was just a minor strain & I should get over it soon. My first appointment with my oncologist was set for Jan 9, 2024 but before I could make it I was admitted to the emergency room on New Year’s Day . They did a CT Scan on me which showed them my cancer spread to my hips & spine (the real reason for my back pain). The doctors determined this cancer has been in my body over a year which is why everything right now seems so fast . I’m currently in stage 4 but my oncologist team is very positive with treating me. I’ve started radiation this week & I’ve had one session of iv transfusion, more than anything I’m in constant pain but I’m gonna keep pushing .This type of cancer can be treated but no cured so I can get it again even after remission. A savings and rainy day fund couldn’t hold me down for a year without work as well as other medical fees . Whatever you can give helps, I appreciate you taking the time to read my story .
