Maxwell Elek is an 11-year-old who was born on July 8th, 2014, and he has just been diagnosed with Post-Transplant Lymphoproliferative Disorder, which is a type of cancer that can occur after a solid organ transplant. Maxwell has already been through more than anyone should medically, receiving a heart transplant when he was just 3 months old on October 31st, 2014.

As you can imagine, having to go through two major medical diagnoses within a decade takes a toll, not only on Maxwell but also on the whole family. We are asking for your help to support Maxwell and his family battle this horrible disease.

Update: Maxwell received his first dose of Chemo on Tuesday, July 15th. Today he was feeling better and will receive his second dose on Tuesday. Thank you to everyone who has supported Maxwell and his family.

Update 8/9/2025

Maxwell is home for the weekend! After a month in the hospital he is able to spend the weekend in his own bed. He does have to go back on Tuesday 8/12 to continue chemo but this weekend is family time in their own home.
