Help Maxwell Get the Service Dog He Desperately Needs.

Hi everyone,

This is one of the hardest and most humbling things I’ve ever had to write, but I’m doing it for someone very special—my 9-year-old son, Maxwell.

Maxwell is a bright, sweet boy with a huge heart. He also happens to be autistic. He faces daily challenges, including severe anxiety and a tendency to run off without recognizing danger. This makes even the simplest outings incredibly stressful and sometimes unsafe.

But there is hope—hope that comes on four paws.

Meet Hendry (short for Henderson), Maxwell’s loving dog and best friend. With the right training, Hendry can become a certified Autism Service Dog, specially trained to keep Maxwell safe, calm his anxiety, and help him navigate the world with greater independence and confidence.

I’ve found an organization experienced in training Autism Service Dogs, and they’ve agreed to work with us. The full cost of training is just under $10,000. So far, I’ve managed to save just under $5,000 through careful budgeting and sacrifice. But as a parent also trying to cover therapy, essential services, and daily needs—raising the remaining funds is extremely difficult in today’s economy.

That’s why I’m reaching out to you—family, friends, kind strangers—for help.
