Hello everyone,

My name is Daniela Bohorquez, and I am Maxi Joan’s wife. Together, we have a beautiful 2-year-old baby who is our whole world.

On March 19, our lives changed overnight. Maxi was diagnosed with severe chronic pancreatitis and has been fighting for his life in the Intensive Care Unit ever since. He has gone through multiple surgeries, including the removal of parts of his intestine and his gallbladder. Now, he is also on dialysis because his kidneys have been affected.

Watching the person you love fight so hard every day is something I cannot put into words. At the same time, I am trying to stay strong for our little baby, who needs his father.

The hospital is four hours away from our home, and since this began, I have been staying nearby with our child in a charity hotel so I can be close to Maxi during this critical time.

We are asking for help to cover basic living expenses like lodging and food while we remain away from home, as well as the overwhelming medical and recovery costs.
