Help Max To Chase His Rugby Dream
We are reaching out to ask for any support, no matter how small, to help our son Max through a difficult and unexpected challenge.
Earlier this rugby season, Max suffered a serious shoulder injury while playing for his School District and the Dragons RAG Block.
Sadly, the injury now requires surgery costing £10,200, and unfortunately, we do not have insurance so now must self-fund the operation — a huge and unexpected expense that we have had to borrow money to cover.
Max is due to undergo surgery on Saturday 30th May, after which he will face a long recovery, including six months of rehabilitation and physiotherapy.
The timing could not be worse. After recently joining the Bristol Bears Academy and being selected to train with the Wales U17s this summer, Max is absolutely devastated to now be facing surgery and a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Rugby means everything to him, and his focus is now on doing everything possible to recover and return to the game he loves.
Max has worked tirelessly to pursue his rugby ambitions, and he hopes rugby will play a major part in his future. He has recently been awarded a scholarship to attend Clifton College — an incredible achievement that reflects his dedication, hard work, and talent both on and off the field.
As proud parents, all we want is to help Max continue chasing his dream and making the most of the incredible opportunities he has earned through his hard work and dedication. However, the cost of his operation has created a huge financial bump in the road and may jeopardise the opportunities that lie ahead for him. We are reaching out to the rugby community, friends, family and beyond, for support to help Max recover, return to the game he loves, and continue fulfilling his dream.
Anyone who knows Max knows how determined, hardworking, and passionate he is about rugby. This injury has been devastating for him, but he remains fully focused on recovering and coming back stronger. We are doing everything we can to support him, and any help towards his recovery journey would truly mean the world to us.
Any donation, no matter the amount, will go directly towards:
His shoulder surgery
Six months of rehabilitation and physiotherapy
Recovery support to help him safely return to rugby and school
If you are unable to donate, simply sharing this page would help us enormously.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read Max’s story and for any support you can give. It truly means more than words can say.
Kate & Phil x
