I've been hesitant to do this and because of numerous people encouraging us to do it, here we are. I'm asking for help, help for my family, but most importantly- help for our fur baby, Max. 4 days ago we realized he wasn't acting right. He was running into walls and wasn't acting like himself. We went to emergency vet and were told he had retinal detachments in both of his eyes and is now blind. The next day this was confirmed again at the veterinary ophthalmologist. We will be taking Max to a veterinary eye surgeon office in VA beach later this week. This is such a rare anomaly that there are only 5 surgeons in the United States that perform this surgery and VA beach is the closest one to us. Max is only 2 years old and still has a long life ahead and we just want him to have the greatest quality of life that we can possibly give him. He is such a loving, sweet, and goofy boy and it's been breaking our hearts to watch him go through all of this. As you can all imagine we now have several medical expenses for Max. We are hoping some of you will find it in your heart to help us and Max through this difficult time. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for reading our story. If you cannot donate, we understand, just keep Max in your thoughts and prayers.
